Meditation & Spiritual Enlightenment: The Bliss of Surrender

Posted on Nov 6th, 2008 by Kip Mazuy

"Stress arises
because you try
and control your experience.

You believe life
should be
different than it is
and your mind is constantly
working out methods
of how to make it
the way you think it should be.

This is what the ego does
in order to survive.
It is instinct.

Surrender
is when you give up
trying to control this moment.

When you cease
to be involved with it
and instead rest
as the witness to it.

There is great fear
in surrender.
Because the ego knows
it survives through control.

Suddenly you feel vulnerable
as if everything you have maintained
could simply collapse.

But it is only the ego that collapses,
the false sense of separation
that keeps you dissatisfied.

As you rest more and more
into the moment,
you experience yourself
dissolving into the whole,
like a cup of water
poured into the ocean.

In this there is the incredible sense
of unconditional love
and unfathomable peace.

There is no more
of this annoying little you
with all of it's self importance
but the being
of the whole vast beautiful & blissful ocean.

The more you experience this peace,
the more willing
you will be to let go of control.

You will find that the ego experience
is aggressive, stressful and unpleasant.

The only reason you cling to it
is that you are afraid of what might happen
if you let go of it.

The simple practice of awareness,
of allowing this moment
to be as it is
and watching it,

takes away all of the fear
and little by little,
you awaken to your true nature
of unconditional love, peace and bliss.

You do not have to do anything dramatic,
you simply have to be present.

Blessings,

Kip"

Zen Enlightenment: How To Experience Totality

Posted on Nov 13th, 2008 by Kip Mazuy

"There is so much time spent
trying to get somewhere
trying to attain something,
that we deny any attention
to what is real.

And what is real
is here and now.

Life is happening
only in this very moment.

What you seek
outside of this moment,
the memories and future anticipations
are not alive,
they have no reality.

So the message is not
even to be present,
because that in itself implies
there is a you
outside of this moment
that must force
itself into this moment.

Rather,
the message is
to simply be aware
of what is here
in this moment,
without trying to change it,
define it or even understand it.

Just to notice
what is here
what is happening
right here and now.

In this moment,
life is happening,
existence is happening.

You see
there is no separation
between the existence of you
and the existence of the whole.

They are one and the same.

Simply by noticing
what is happening within you,
you experience totality.

Blessings,

Kip"

Enlightened Spirituality: How to Experience Freedom

"The hero is always
fighting off enemies
while the village idiot
is left alone to happily
sit in the meadow with the ducks.

For the most part,
it all comes down
to suffering self importance
or your willingness
to let go of it.

As long as you know
something important,
you will always fight
to defend your position.

When you realize & accept
that you know nothing
you allow
a greater intelligence
to shine.

When you let go of control,
and observe this moment as it is,
unconditional love & peace
is your natural state.

This is freedom.

Blessings,

Kip"

Unconditonal Peace & Dealing with Crisis

Posted on Nov 27th, 2008 by Kip Mazuy

Much love
to those that were lost or did lose
in Mumbai.

This quote is in no way a commentary
on the event.

"We go around
wearing masks and ideas
going through the motions
of work, rest and entertainment.

Then something happens,
some crisis
whether inward or outward
that shakes you out of the known,
that pulls away
all of the masks and ideas
and leaves you with nothing
for however long it lasts.

At this point
of emptiness
there are no more words,
no noise.

You cannot call it
happiness nor unhappiness,
attainment nor failure,
just a deep sense of stillness & peace.

It is a strange process.

It is not right that it happens,
it is not wrong,
it is simply part of life.

And whether you judge the process
as good or bad,
you cannot deny that it brings
you closer to the essence of life.

No matter how painful
it may be at the time,
it offers you a greater freedom,
from ego,
a deeper connection to the whole,
an opportunity
to move deeper into peace.

It is no easy thing.

It can hurt like hell.

And I have no wish to
say otherwise.

Blessings,

Kip"
