Meditation & Spiritual Enlightenment: The Bliss of Surrender

"Stress arises
because you try
and control your experience.

You believe life
should be
different than it is
and your mind is constantly
working out methods
of how to make it
the way you think it should be.

This is what the ego does
in order to survive.
It is instinct.

Surrender
is when you give up
trying to control this moment.

When you cease
to be involved with it
and instead rest
as the witness to it.

There is great fear
in surrender.
Because the ego knows
it survives through control.

Suddenly you feel vulnerable
as if everything you have maintained
could simply collapse.

But it is only the ego that collapses,
the false sense of separation
that keeps you dissatisfied.

As you rest more and more
into the moment,
you experience yourself
dissolving into the whole,
like a cup of water
poured into the ocean.

In this there is the incredible sense
of unconditional love
and unfathomable peace.

There is no more
of this annoying little you
with all of it's self importance
but the being
of the whole vast beautiful & blissful ocean.

The more you experience this peace,
the more willing
you will be to let go of control.

You will find that the ego experience
is aggressive, stressful and unpleasant.

The only reason you cling to it
is that you are afraid of what might happen
if you let go of it.

The simple practice of awareness,
of allowing this moment
to be as it is
and watching it,

takes away all of the fear
and little by little,
you awaken to your true nature
of unconditional love, peace and bliss.

You do not have to do anything dramatic,
you simply have to be present.

Blessings,

Kip"
